Do you have handwritten text? You need typing. Your manuscript is delivered to professional typists for editing, scoring (if you are interested) and proofreading. Role of the proofreader to correct spelling and punctuation errors. Linguistic editing can be considered but it is important to emphasize that a linguistic editor and proofreader can naively change sentences and so sometimes the meaning the author intended may change. Therefore, work closely with the proofreader and carefully review the text upon receipt to pay attention to any changes made. (Here you need patience and spirit). Any change in editing and design should be required with the author and only after approval.
Tip: You can save these costs if you type and tag yourself.
Layout
Even if you have typed and checked text, you need a page. In the page layout, the pages of the book are designed according to a unique pattern designed for books. Such as, page numbers, chapter heads, keys, and indexes. You may also need a graphic design that will design the page to be printed. (This is done by graphic artists using advanced graphics software). The product of this step are PDF files.
Advanced Tip: You can also skip the page step in the next section if you have final PDFs after editing your proofreading and final page.
Plates
The material boards that are about to be printed are projected onto aluminum panels using a special or manual film machine. Plate receives ink from the ink rollers in the printing machine and prints the material on large sheets of paper. On the boards, the book pages are arranged so that after printing while folding the printed sheets, the pages came out in the appropriate place. Previously it was done manually, nowadays it is done using a CTP machine. (Machine for making offset boards directly from the computer in exposure and laser burning systems. A method that took the place of photography and montage).
Tip: Tables can be reused.
Page Size
Paper comes in different sheet sizes. A standard sample sheet is 70X100 cm in size and 16 x 17X24 cm.
Paperless wood
Plain paper is somewhat rough. Contains 5% wood and 95% bonding material. An example of such a paper is the A4 home printer pages, or school notebooks. In wood-free printing, the print colors are slightly spread on paper, it's a "hotter" print in its feel. The colors are less strong and the print slightly less sharp than the chrome print. (See below)
Glossy chrome paper/ matte
Smooth paper created when taken without wood and coated with some varnish and sanded. The coating is waterproof, glossy and is designed to highlight the product printed in offset printing. This type of paper is most often used for cover, magazine covers, catalogs and leaflets. When printing large areas of dark color, it is recommended to coat the chromo paper with varnish or laminate so that there is no fingerprints on the printed paper.
Paper Thickness / Weight
The thickness of the paper is measured by the weight of the paper, measured in grams per square meter (spatial weight). Standard laser printing paper usually weighs 80 grams per meter, the thicker the paper is more expensive.
Tip: You can get the weight of the paper required to print in a simple formula: weight = amount of sheets X spatial weight X width X sheet length.
2. Offset
The ink image is transferred from the board onto which the page is about to be printed into a rubber roll and then to the printed paper, which absorbs ink from the ink rollers only in the areas where the image is projected, while the blank area absorbs only a layer of water that keeps the unprinted area empty. The most common printing on large commercial scale due to the high print quality and efficiency of the method.
Tip: It is common for a first edition print to exceed 1000 copies. In special cases, a smaller amount can be printed, but the cost is not necessarily small in the same proportions.
3. Binding
Paperback Non-hardcover, Bristol + laminated paper (nylon paper coating for exquisite appearance and extension The product life), which is folded and glued to the book / booklet's face sheets. The book cover will be designed by our graphic artists in collaboration with the book author according to the book's character and personal taste. At this stage boards should also be prepared as prints for the covers.
Hard cover
The inside folds and sewed. The cover is made of printed outer paper, which is pasted on thick cardboard. Usually there is also an inner double with one side affixed to the wrapping carton and on the other side affixed to the front pillars. This double is called Porzac and in many cases also carries a print pattern or another motif.
Embedding is an action made by using a high-heat pressure with gold or silver color. There is also a blind imprint that means only a skin-less leaf.
